The Ruijie RG-AP180 Wall AP series is a next-generation Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless access point with integrated IoT module wall plate designed for hotels, offices and dormitories with Smart IoT integration demands. The RG-AP180 series is designed for universal plug standard with multiple integrated Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports for extended connectivity for office equipment or IPTV applications. With exquisite design and easy deployment, the AP can be installed in the junction box without damaging wall finishes, offering a better solution for wireless network deployment in scenarios such as hotels.
Ruijie RG-AP180 Wall AP can be centrally managed via the FREE lifetime enterprise-grade Ruijie cloud service, enabling fast provisioning, flexible authentication and stable wireless connection even in extreme environments.
The dual band, dual radio RG-AP180 series supports concurrent 802.11a / n / ac / ax and 802.11b / g / n / ax. Both 2.4G and 5G support 2 spatial streams at the same time. Equipped with the advanced 802.11ax RF chip, the AP supports MU-MIMO, which enhances user experience for multi-user access. The RG-AP180 series offers 4 x 100/1000 Mbps RJ45 downlink ports, providing optimal wireless network coverage and additional wired network interfaces. The RG-AP180 was also integrated with IoT module supporting Bluetooth 5.0 and Zigbee protocol for future Smart Living integration.
Facing the emerging challenges of management efficiency and wireless security, all Ruijie enterprise APs support hybrid management mode. Whether deployed as standalone AP (Fat mode) or managed AP (Fit mode), the AP will detect the operation mode automatically without additional effort in firmware upgrade. For better security and operation, we recommend enterprise customers to choose one of the following wireless controller options based on functionality and capacity:
Cloud: Ruijie Cloud: The Ruijie Public Cloud service (powered by RG-MACC) targets the SMB segment with an integrated captive portal, authentication (such as PPSK for employees, Facebook, coupon, account, etc.) and reporting functions. Together with the Ruijie Cloud mobile app (free download), SMB customers can provision and manage their networks at their fingertips.
Hybrid Cloud: RG-WS6000 series wireless controller (on-premises) plus cloud management (optional): designed for single or multi-site enterprise offices and campuses with high-density AP deployment. Controller devices are installed at the customer site with fully integrated wireless management and authentication functionality, supporting up to 5000 APs per cluster. Optionally, the cloud management platform enables value-added features such as centralized device configuration and monitoring, AI radio (RF) optimization, reporting, etc.
Private Cloud: RG-MACC software controller: aimed at ISP / MSP, government or multinational corporation (MNC) with diverse customer sites and demand for integration of their billing, gateway and security systems. The RG-MACC supports unified device management, not only for wireless access points, but also switches and gateway devices.

Access point with Wi-Fi wall plate 6
With the latest 802.11ax 1024-QAM modulation technology, the RG-AP180 wall-plate access point's dual-band dual-radio design offers a maximum access speed of up to 1.2Gbps for 5G. If dual-band is enabled at the same time, the high-speed Wi-Fi can reach 1.7745 Gbps, offering a high-speed network experience.
Intelligent local forwarding
By employing Ruijie's intelligent local forwarding technology, the RG-AP180 breaks the traffic bottleneck limitation of wireless controllers. In collaboration with the RG-WS series of wireless controllers, users can flexibly configure the data forwarding mode for RG-AP180. The AP also controls whether data will be forwarded through the wireless controller according to the user's SSID or VLAN, or sent directly to the wired network for data exchange.
Local forwarding technology can sort and forward delay-sensitive data requiring real-time transmission over the wired network to greatly alleviate traffic pressure on wireless controllers and better meet the high-traffic transmission requirements of the 802.11ax network.
Abundant QoS policies
RG-AP180 supports a wide variety of QoS policies. For example, it provides bandwidth constraints based on WLAN/AP/STA and Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) that defines different priorities for different service data. RG-AP180 realizes timely and quantitative transmission of audio and video, and ensures the smooth operation of multimedia applications.
With multicast-to-unicast technology, RG-AP180 solves the problem of video delay due to packet loss or high latency in the wireless network, and greatly improves the user experience of wireless network multicast video services.

Full signal coverage
Traditional APs are installed in corridors (ceiling) and the indoor network signals are weak or even completely degenerate after wall penetration. The Ruijie RG-AP180 series wall plate AP, on the other hand, can be installed inside the room and thus ensures full coverage anywhere for the best user experience of voice, video or Internet browsing.
High definition IPTV application
Today, IPTV service, especially VoD (Video on Demand), is widely adopted by the hotel chain group to provide a premium entertainment experience for their loyal guests. To ensure high quality IPTV service, sufficient IP bandwidth and low latency IP network are essential.
Ruijie RG-AP180 has a customized function for hotel IPTV application, up to 4 HDTVs can be connected via Gigabit LAN ports (1000M) and fully supports video streaming and multicast protocol such as QoS, IGMP Snooping, 802.1q, etc.
With Ruijie's patented CPP (CPU Protection Policy) technology, which further protects CPUs from abuse and attacks, enabling the most stable IPTV service connectivity offering.
Screen mirror control
Trending online content streaming today, 87% of guests surveyed indicated they would prefer the ability to stream their apps to a larger in-room television screen.
However, the biggest challenges are the lack of control measures to minimize the transmission of the personal smart device screen to another TV in another room or unauthorized device. And network security gaps also increase due to the same logical network segment (Layer 2) between the TV and the guest's smartphone/tablet terminal.
Ruijie introduced an easy but safe countermeasure in personal screen mirroring/streaming, namely screen mirroring isolation. With Ruijie Screen Mirroring isolation, the guest can only stream their screen on the authorized Smart TV.
As illustrated in the diagram below, a QR code (generated by Ruijie WLAN controller) will be displayed on the TV screen (API integration required with the hotel TV manufacturer), once the guest scans the QR code, the TV will be linked with the individual smart device and Smart TV will be available as options for screen transmission. Meanwhile, other TVs will never be available to duplicate without the binding authorization procedure of QR code.Easy but safe countermeasure in personal screen transmission / screen mirroring, namely screen mirroring isolation. With Ruijie Screen Mirroring isolation, the guest can only stream their screen on the authorized Smart TV.
Guaranteed guest comfort
Comfort is a must for guests' relaxation. Traditional wall-mounted AP with LED status indicator for engineers installation and troubleshooting use, the light and LED status flashing will cause disturbance to guests' sleep.

Hybrid management
All Ruijie enterprise APs support hybrid management mode. Whether deployed as standalone AP (Fat mode) or managed AP (Fit and MACC mode), the AP will detect the operation mode automatically without additional effort in firmware upgrade.
Flexible guest access policy
With Ruijie Cloud Service or RG-MACC software driver, the RG-AP180 wall-plate access point supports a wide range of authentication methods, such as Guest Hotspot, 802.1x, coupon code/access, user account and social authentication. Complying with standard network access control, it offers a set of control policies in terms of user access, authorization, equipment compliance verification, network behavior monitoring, network attack prevention, etc. All these control features ensure high network security for authenticated users.
For the hotel scenario, Ruijie also provides a customized authentication feature, namely "account" authentication, which simulates a PMS-like login experience, but without the need for any complex third-party PMS integration. The guest will log in with their assigned room numbers and last name, each account can limit the access policy, such as simultaneous devices, duration and speed limit, etc.
Download and authentication acceleration
Developed by Ruijie Cloud and EasyGate (EG), the security portal, captive portal, account and voucher authentication can be managed by Cloud, but all security policy and application will be processed locally in EG's security gateway. It not only speeds up the overall authentication process, but also provides additional service availability protection in case the Cloud or WLAN Controller cannot be accessed, all authentication services continue without interruption.
Intelligent Remote Sensing Technology (RIPT)
In the traditional network architecture where FIT APs are centrally managed by a wireless controller, packets received by the AP must be transmitted to the controller before being forwarded. When the wireless controller fails, the APs will not function properly, resulting in the failure of the entire network.
Ruijie's latest RIPT provides you with a complete disaster recovery solution and enables the wireless controller series to implement intelligent link perception. Once the faulty controller is detected, the APs will quickly switch to intelligent mode to continue data forwarding, ensuring high availability of the wireless network and keeping wireless users always online.
